Noapte Sfanta

A new music video I quickly put together. I was trying to take advantage of the Christmas rush. Hoping people would watch it and see the gospel message. It hasn't been quite as successful as "La Betleem colo-n jos" but it's a great video either way. The song is really beautiful sung by Andrei Popescu. Also I'm grateful to Pete Copu and Brandon Dodson for the great pics. I hope you enjoy it.

La Betleem colo-n jos

This is a traditional Romanian Christmas song, sung by Andrei Popescu. I put together this video from some pictures I took from Unirii around last Christmas. The video contains the gospel and some good evangelistic links. I put it on youtube and the one below, hoping that people will search for it watch it and get the gospel. So far it seems to be succesful. Feel free to pass it on to those you know who understand Romanian. Here's the links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gR_mtIaiFkY and http://www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=efea5c2f0a133d52def7

Feeding Sheep or Amusing Goats?

Feeding Sheep
or Amusing Goats?

by Charles Haddon Spurgeon
1834-1892 (but it could as well be today)

Church
Preparing for Victory
Home
An evil is in the professed camp of the Lord, so gross in its impudence, that the most shortsighted can hardly fail to notice it during the past few years. It has developed at an abnormal rate, even for evil. It has worked like leaven until the whole lump ferments. The devil has seldom done a cleverer thing than hinting to the church that part of their mission is to provide entertainment for the people, with a view to winning them.
From speaking out as the Puritans did, the church has gradually toned down her testimony, then winked at and excused the frivolities of the day. Then she tolerated them in her borders. Now she has adopted them under the plea of reaching the masses.
My first contention is that providing amusement for the people is nowhere spoken of in the Scriptures as a function of the church. If it is a Christian work, why did not Christ speak of it? "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15). That is clear enough So it would have been if He had added, "and provide amusement for those who do not relish the gospel." No such words, however, are to be found. It did not seem to occur to him.
Then again, "He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers .., for the work of the ministry" (Eph. 4:11-12). Where do entertainers come in? The Holy Spirit is silent concerning them. Were the prophets persecuted because they amused the people or because they refused? The concert has no martyr roll.
Again, providing amusement is in direct antagonism to the teaching and life of Christ and all his apostles. What was the attitude of the church to the world? Ye are the salt" (Matt. 5:13), not the sugar candy---something the world will spit out not swallow. Short and sharp was the utterance, "Let the dead bury their dead" (Matt. 8:22) He was in awful earnestness.
Had Christ introduced more of the bright and pleasant elements into his mission, he would have been more popular when they went back, because of the searching nature of His teaching. I do not hear him say, "Run after these people Peter and tell them we will have a different style of service tomorrow, something short and attractive with little preaching. We will have a pleasant evening for the people. Tell them they will be sure to enjoy it. Be quick Peter, we must get the people somehow." Jesus pitied sinners, sighed and wept over them, but never sought to amuse them.
In vain will the Epistles be searched to find any trace of this gospel of amusement! Their message is, "Come out, keep out, keep clean out!" Anything approaching fooling is conspicuous by its absence. They had boundless confidence in the gospel and employed no other weapon.
After Peter and John were locked up for preaching, the church had a prayer meeting but they did not pray, "Lord grant unto thy servants that by a wise and discriminating use of innocent recreation we may show these people how happy we are." If they ceased not from preaching Christ, they had not time for arranging entertainments. Scattered by persecution, they went everywhere preaching the gospel. They turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6). That is the only difference! Lord, clear the church of all the rot and rubbish the devil has imposed on her, and bring us back to apostolic methods.
Lastly, the mission of amusement fails to effect the end desired. It works havoc among young converts. Let the careless and scoffers, who thank God because the church met them halfway, speak and testify. Let the heavy laden who found peace through the concert not keep silent! Let the drunkard to whom the dramatic entertainment has been God's link in the chain of the conversion, stand up! There are none to answer. The mission of amusement produces no converts. The need of the hour for today's ministry is believing scholarship joined with earnest spirituality, the one springing from the other as fruit from the root. The need is biblical doctrine, so understood and felt, that it sets men on fire.

Fighting Abortion... with Stickers

Here in Romania, more than 70% of pregnancies end in the wicked murderous practice of abortion. My wife wrote a good book on the subject, yet we desire to do more. Recently the idea came to us to order some stickers from a great abortion website: http://www.abort73.com/ . We then wrote our email and/or a Christian website on them. http://www.caleamaestrului.arhibuild.ro/ Yesterday Cladiu and I put some up in prominent places in Unirii. People put all kind of things up, including sensual pictures and terrible advertisements. So we we took the liberty to place ours as well. Even right over some evil stickers, which I'm not posting a picture of. We waited till later at night to do it so there would be less people, and therefore less likely to have a problem. Yet during the day these locations are full full with people. May the Lord use them for His glory, the salvation of the lost, and the saving of innocent children's lives.
While putting up a sticker, some young men asked me if it was a new club. I told them no, it's a web-site. I showed them the pink 'n' blue tracts, then shared the gospel with them.

Andrea and I are thinking how good it would be to make our own stickers for the Romanian sites. We're also hoping to add Andrea's writing's on abortion to the http://www.caleamaestrului.arhibuild.ro/ site. I'm also adding a picture of our new baby Hannah to remind you that many beautiful children, like her are being killed here. Literally more than 7 out of 10. We'd appreciate your prayers. May the Lord use you for His glory.

Reproach for the name of Christ!

Mt. 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

1 Peter 4:16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
The picture above is of a brother from church sharing the gospel with the young man with the bike. I chose the verses above, so that we could rejoice. While out handing out tracts and sharing the gospel, Claudiu was threatened to be beaten, and spoken badly to. Praise the Lord. What an honor for him. To be reproached for the name of Christ. I pray the Lord will increase a zeal in you all for preaching the gospel.

This is a very good parody on the silly justifications politicians and people give for abortion. It's so obvious when aplied to another issue. Here is part 1:

Hannah Unati DeSeno

It is with joy and gratfulness to our God and Father that we present our daughter Hannah Unati DeSeno. She was born September 21, weighing 3.7 kilos, and I think 55 cm. I also think she's the cutest baby girl ever.

Very Bad

The pictures go without saying that they are children. The second picture where the child is all black is a saline abortin. The child in the "tear drop" is 6 weeks after conception.

Psalm 139:13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

Last Friday was a sad day. Andrea and I wear at a doctor's office to talk with the doctor about assisting with our baby's birth. As we were waiting on a couch, Andrea noticed a price list on the wall. We where impressed with the low prices. We were then appalled to see that they murdered unborn children for 200 to 300 Ron ($80-120). Please pray for the Lord to stop this wicked work and save the lost. In Romania more than 70% of pregnancies end in murder thru abortion. Andrea wrote her final thesis on this subject. If you read Romanian and would like a pdf of it, let me know in a comment with your e-mail address.

Christ recieves sinners! Oh worship Him!

"This man receiveth sinners." {#Lu 15:2}

Observe the condescension of this fact. This Man, who towers above all other men, holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners—this Man receiveth sinners. This Man, who is no other than the eternal God, before whom angels veil their faces—this Man receiveth sinners. It needs an angel’s tongue to describe such a mighty stoop of love. That any of us should be willing to seek after the lost is nothing wonderful—they are of our own race; but that he, the offended God, against whom the transgression has been committed, should take upon himself the form of a servant, and bear the sin of many, and should then be willing to receive the vilest of the vile, this is marvellous.

"This Man receiveth sinners"; not, however, that they may remain sinners, but he receives them that he may pardon their sins, justify their persons, cleanse their hearts by his purifying word, preserve their souls by the indwelling of the Holy Ghost, and enable them to serve him, to show forth his praise, and to have communion with him. Into his heart’s love he receives sinners, takes them from the dunghill, and wears them as jewels in his crown; plucks them as brands from the burning, and preserves them as costly monuments of his mercy. None are so precious in Jesus’ sight as the sinners for whom he died. When Jesus receives sinners, he has not some out of doors reception place, no casual ward where he charitably entertains them as men do passing beggars, but he opens the golden gates of his royal heart, and receives the sinner right into himself—yea, he admits the humble penitent into personal union and makes him a member of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. There was never such a reception as this! This fact is still most sure this evening, he is still receiving sinners: would to God sinners would receive him.

Morning and Evening By Charles Spurgeon

This article made me worship God for His great love in saving sinners like me.

I hope you get to check this out where you are.

Gorj

Andrea and I had a great time recently in the South-West of Romania (Gorj), attending Cladiu and Eliza Stefu's wedding. We had wonderful journies traveling there and back. Sharing the gospel on the train and in the different cities we were in. Praise the Lord for a giving us the opportunity to take a break from the intensity of Bucuresti and get out for a few day.

We see from this video that the question is not: "Why does God let bad things happen to good people", but the very opposite.

Response to the Lost 2

This is a recent letter I've written in response to one I recieved, the recieved is quoted in Red. Please pray for this person's salvation.
Thanks for your patience with me getting back to you. Life has been moving pretty fast and full for me lately. I’ll try taking your statements/questions bit by bit and responding. You said:
"Jon, thanks for replying. That the axiom that "everything that exists must have a creator" is common sense isn't a sound argument, as just as many people nowadays believe things can arise naturally without necessarily having been created and specifically designed by a conscious creator for a specific purpose. And common sense is quite fallible, as not so long ago it was common sense that the Earth was flat, that the sun rotated around the Earth, that our atmosphere is too big for humans actions to have a negative effect, etc."
It’s not just common sense that everything made has a maker, everything created has a creator, it’s logical and testable. Everything designed has a designer. Order demands an orderer. That is observable, testable, and scientific. Macro-evolution (ex. A fish becoming a mammal etc.) is not scientific, logical, historical, testable, or observable. Actually someone who believes evolution rather than in God our Creator, is in the camp of people believing the earth is flat, and the Sun rotates around the earth. The Bible stated way before people knew the earth was round that the earth is round in Isaiah 40:22.
You wrote:
""Sure God created all yet we are personally responsible for our actions."Yes, I'd say we are. But I'm not saying from a human standpoint, I'm saying from God's perspective, why would he give us free will then demand of us to choose one thing and punish us (in eternal hellfire no less) for choosing the other? Not a real choice if you ask me. Especially when he is the one who created Satan, created the mentality and persuasive abilities in Satan, just so we would be tempted and seduced. What need of God does this satisfy? For us to prove our love to him? So he can prove his great forgiving qualities to us? It's like a parent digging ditches in the backyard that they know a toddler will fall into, telling the toddler not to fall into it, then rescuing the toddler when it does, just to heighten the toddler's dependancy for the parent, when it is the parent who dug the ditch in the first place. That is no parent I would want to be associated with."
There is so many things that could be said in response to this. I’ll try to give you some of the essential.
Who are you to judge God? In fact if God does not exist there is no absolute morality, right and wrong, or basis of making a judgement of someone or God’s character. Without God there is no absolute authority for right and wrong, everything is just arbitrary. Someone may say it’s wrong to rape little children another may say it’s ok. One government may allow genocide another may say it’s wrong. You only have absolute morality when given from God. The fact that you have a sense of right and wrong testifies to the existence of God, and the judgement to come. The Bible says: "Acts 17: 29 -31Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead." God has given you a conscience. You know right from wrong. Yet if your anything like me you have often chosen wrong. You know it’s wrong to lie, yet how many lies have you told in your life? Have you ever stolen? Jesus said that whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. Maybe you’ve done more than just think about it? In God’s eyes, if you hate someone you are a murderer (1 John 3:15). These things are written by God upon your heart. We know right from wrong no matter what our background. If there is a right and wrong, good and evil, etc. It stands to reason that God will judge the earth. And that’s why you need to repent (turn from your sin), and trust the Savior. We broke God’s law, not because the "devil made us do it" as your faulty portrayal of God asserts. We sin because we are evil. Just like many a criminal steals, because they are selfish. God didn’t dig the ditches you wrote of in your analogy. We dug them ourselves. I don’t tell you this to say that I am better than you in anyway. I’m am one criminal telling another criminal how to prepare for his court case. I love you and don’t want you to get the justice you and I deserve in Hell. You may not agree with the punishment, but that’s not up to you to decide. More than that God loves you and died and rose again in your place. We broke God’s law Jesus paid the fine. Your response should be to repent and trust in Him. God didn’t dig the ditches, we did. God didn’t have to offer salvation to us. If God were to cast someone like Hitler, Stalin, or you, and I into hell, He would be just in doing so. In fact He would be good in doing so. I’m gonna put some Bible verses about what we’re discussing on the bottom of this letter. They show clearly how the analogies you’ve made are not what the Bible teaches.
"You're right that evolution falls into the same category of "current anti-religious ideology" - you could even cynically call it a "fancy", something isolated in time and place, more relevant to our passing circumstances than anything concrete and "true." And I've wrestled with that notion - that in my separation from Christianity I didn't just jump into the latest anti-Christian trend. But I took the time and let the idea of evolution sink in, and read books and reflected on nature and it really does make more sense to me than this great struggle for souls and epic battles between good an evil mentality of the Bible where nature is scorned and our bodies are born into sin. That is a very unpleasant mentality to have."
The fact that you don’t find God pleasant, or like Him, is kind of like a drug dealer not finding the police pleasant or liking them. It is because he is guilty.
You wrote:
"But in regards to my question, you answered by saying you knew the legitimacy of your God because of an elation you felt in your heart. (paraphrasing, obviously - but I think that was the jest of it, correct me if I'm wrong). But do you think the elation you felt was any more than the elation other people feel towards their religion? Do you think the Hindu in India don't feel great personal satisfaction in their religion that has lasted thousands of years? Or Buddhists about the Buddhist way? Or Jews about the Old Testament God or Muslims about this same Old Testament God of Abraham except through their prophet Mohammed? If you say yours is true and theirs is not, I will say that is fairly naive and selfish of you, and if you say theirs is real and they really have found the true God only under a different name then I will say you are a truly progressive Christian, and would be both surprised and impressed."
I’ll correct you as asked. I did not use some "elation" "felt in my heart" as reasoning of God’s legitimacy as you put it. I said: " I became a Christian because (let me change this to the word: when)God did a supernatural work in me giving me a new heart with new desires, giving me repentance and faith in His Son, and therefore forgiveness of sins. I was "born again". So radical is God’s working that the sin I once loved I now hate. God revealed Himself to me (John 15:8a Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you..). (see also John 14:21)"
More importantly Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (see John 14:6) Religion is garbage. When I say religion I must define this. Religion is bad people trying to justify themselves, excuse themselves, or lie to themselves, and make themselves feel good. We broke God’s law. Religion (including atheism) is often a response to that guilt. People try to make up for there sins by "living a good life", or keeping religious rituals hoping it will make up for there sins. Almost as if they could bribe God. Should a murderer be able to boast of his works of charity and therefor go unpunished? Of course not. No good works or religion can make up for sin. Only the perfect, holy, sinless, Lamb of God (Jesus Christ the Righteous) can pay the penalty due us for our breaking of God’s law. Either Jesus does or we will. If we pay it, we’ll get justice in the lake of fire. Some people, including false religions (some in the name of Christianity) and atheism included, choose to ignore the issue of the coming judgement and their guilt before God. They’re like someone standing in a freeway not believing in trucks. Their belief doesn’t change reality. The reality is: "...all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23) And God has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness. I’m pleading with you to flee from the wrath that is to come. God is love, and God is righteous, holy, and good, the just Judge of the earth. Please think about your sins, and think about the Saviour who died (in love) in your place, then repent, and put your trust in Him. Then read the Bible daily and follow it’s instructions. I’m praying for you. John 14:21 (Jesus said:) He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Here are the afore mentioned verses:
James 1:13 ¶ Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
Romans 1:1 ¶ Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
.
16 ¶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 ¶ Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Romans 2:1 ¶ Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?
22 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
23 Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?
Romans 9:1 ¶ I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
6 ¶ Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.
10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;
11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
14 ¶ What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
25 ¶ As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.
26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.
29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
30 ¶ What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.
31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Ps 14:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Ps 53:1 To the chief Musician upon Mahalath, Maschil, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Thank you for your patience in reading this letter.

Flooding in RO

Pray for the Marianciuc family in Siret. They are Godly servants of the Lord, and have had some serious flooding recently. We have an invitation to come visit them again to go and share the gospel in the Ukraine. Lord willing I hope it works out.

Everlasting Gospel for All Nations

Andrea boldly shared the gospel with these gypsy children near our home. They couldn't read so God gave her the grace to take the time to share the law and the everlasting gospel with them.

Q and A

I received this letter:
About that site, their understanding of evolution is limited, to say the least. In fact it's wrong too say anything occurred by chance and fallen miraculously into their present day forms. Therefore, the coca cola and oranges tests are irrelevent. The whole thing uses as an axiom that if something is made, "there must be a maker." There can be no room for discussion afterwards. But let me ask you a few questions: Did God create Satan? Is God all-knowing? Is God therefore at fault for all the evil in the world which he knew Satan would cause? Do you believe you happened upon Christianity because of its inherent authenticity, or because it is the prevailing religion where you grew up? You, the same person growing up in Iran, would you have found Islam, and therefore been sentenced to hell for not having found Jesus? Isn't it really by chance, then, whether we go to heaven or hell? Would an all-knowing all-perfect God allow that?"

Here is the response (may the Lord use it for His glory):
(Name), I’m glad you took the time to read the article I sent you. Your right it is an axiom “that if something is made, “there must be a maker.”.” It’s just plain common sense. I’ll take on your questions one by one.
Q:“Did God create Satan?”
A: Yes, and everything else for that matter.

Q: “is God all knowing?”
A: It appears to be implied so in the Bible.

Q: “Is God therefore at fault for all the evil in the world which he knew Satan would cause?
A: No way, not at fault. Can you imagine standing before a judge, you’re guilty of serious crimes and blaming God and Satan. Sure God created all yet we are personally responsible for our actions. The very fact that there is good and evil is only because God has made it so. You don’t have absolute good and evil apart from God. Good and evil are part of God’s redemptive plan from “before the foundation of the world” (Ephesians 1 etc.). God shows the glory of His grace in redeeming and saving monsters of wickedness like ourselves.

Q: “Do you believe you happened upon Christianity because of (A)its inherent authenticity, or (B)because it is the prevailing religion where you grew up?”
A: I’d like to answer C. For sure I “happened upon Christianity...because it is the prevailing religion where (I) grew up”. The same could be asked of evolution and atheism, yet that’s irrelevant as to wether or not it’s true. Knowing about Jesus and the Bible never made me a Christian. Nor that it is more socially acceptable than in say, Iran. I became a Christian because God did a supernatural work in me giving me a new heart with new desires, giving me repentance and faith in His Son, and therefore forgiveness of sins. I was “born again”. So radical is God’s working that the sin I once loved I now hate. God revealed Himself to me (John 15:8a Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you..). (see also John 14:21)

Q: “You, the same person growing up in Iran, would you have found Islam, and therefore been sentenced to hell for not having found Jesus?”
A: All people have creation and conscience as witness against them. (See Romans 1-2) Basically creation reveals to people that there is a “Creator”. Conscience reveals to them His law. Wether you’ve ever “found Jesus” as you say, isn’t the point. The point is that we all know there is a God, and we know good and evil, yet we often love and choose evil. Conscience is the law of God written on everyone’s hearts (Romans 2:15). If I lie, steal, murder, rape, indulge in cannibalism, or even don’t do the good I know I should, I do it with knowledge that it is wrong. Conscience means “with knowledge”. I break the law of God knowing I am doing wrong, and therefore can and will be held accountable. The penalty for such transgression is “hell” or the “lake of fire” if you will. So the man in Iran would be “sentenced to hell” for breaking God’s law. Everyone has a conscience. Last year I was on four continents of this earth and can tell you from experience it is so. I’m not talking about cultural differences, but a deeper absolute law of God written on their hearts.

Q: “Isn't it really by chance, then, whether we go to heaven or hell?”
A: No.

Q: “Would an all-knowing all-perfect God allow that?"
A: No.
